About our project

Designed to open up the black box that is the process of PhD’s, and with that, make an attempt at demystifying academia as a whole, this project was born from the minds of Adam Krid and Freekje de Klein. Later, Leo Balvers, Sam Boshuizen en Florent Beijnes joined in on the project.

The project’s premise was simple: find out all there is to know about the experience of doing a PhD. And where else to go than our trusty teachers? Adam and Freekje interviewed several teachers from their respective disciplines, History and Literary Studies. We have collected the interviews for you to read, as well as a page of key take-aways for anyone wondering about a PhD.
